So Markus is blogging from the US. He’s my second-cousin (little cousin, if translated straight from Swedish) my younger second-cousin from my mother’s mother’s side of the family. That means he’s tall – like all my grandmother’s brothers and he’s also inherited my family’s musical talents. Currently he’s residing in Chicago, getting to know the music scene [...]

To put your mark on things

Today I put my name on our office-door. We have this wonderful tool at work that makes any name tag you’d like. It’s almost like a mini computer. You write whatever you like and then it prints it out like a piece of tape that you can glue on to for example a door. Amazing!
I [...]
Heard on the train

(Hmm, this might not sound as funny as it would if you’d heard it yourselves.)
I was going to read some articles on my way back to Turku this Sunday, but…
Two guys + a six-pack of beer sat down in the seats next to mine and started talking with a guy seated behind me.
Drunk Guy: We’ve been [...]

Yesterday’s doings

I’m starting to realize what Mia meant when she said it is dangerous to live close to the city center – you buy a lot more than you would if it took you half an hours bus trip to get in to town.
But you get to see some lovely things as well.
Yesterday I found these for [...]
The sounds of Åbo

Through my windows I have heard:
A marching band walking past playing “I’m just a gigolo…” Somewhat inappropriate since they were followed by a long row of future football pros aged 7-13.
Someone playing music very loudly in their car. First I thought it was the neighbours that were having a party and enjoying some techno but [...]
Something occured to me…

(Something that might not be so interesting for anyone else but me, and perhaps my mother)
Ah, I realised something yesterday! We were talking about washing dishes and one of my colleagues came out with this statement:
“It’s such hard work to fill up the dish-washer but even worse to empty it!”
Now, I would ordinarily think of [...]
I’m thinking of all the boxes I’ll have to get

Inspired by Hanna F’s move I have now taken a picture of all the candle holders I own. It’s terrible to think about how much stuff I’ve gathered during the years but I actually thought there would be more candlesticks… Well I’ll have a hard time moving as it is with all my baking goods!
Not thinking straight

Oops! Now why would I go and do something stupid like that…
I love you more than…

Sometimes you get a bit happy even though you don’t have someone to love more than…
These are my favourites:
I love you more than you love World of Warcraft
I love you more than Sylar loves slicing brains
Work as usual

It’s cold at work. I try to wash my hands as often as possible just to keep warm. The best part of eating lunch is no longer the food but to do the dishes afterwards. We should have mandatory tea-times at least twice a day when the outdoor temperature drops below -5 degrees Celsius.
I had [...]
Drum roll please

We were playing Radio Rock the whole day yesterday at work and it got me thinking: Why was it that I chose to play the piano and not drums as an 8 year old? My air-drum moves seem to be quite good and I do have a decent sense of rhythm (I’m actually quite tone deaf so [...]
