Spent last weekend at my parent’s place to “celebrate” the wedding between the Swedish princess and her Daniel. And what a beautiful wedding it was – we were all oohing and aahing over everything from the dress to the speeches. Unfortunately, some higher powers seemed to favour royalties over commoners and while the weather was fine in Stockholm it was pouring in Kvevlax. We had rented several tents but my large family could barely stay dry underneath them and those not wearing rubber booths had to go home with some very wet feet.

But all in all it was a very nice day, and here are some pictures to prove it.

First a word of warning: Do not eat ginseng chocolate! It tastes like potato cellar – I kid you not! I don’t know if the dirt in Korea tastes different from the Finnish version – but I can’t come up with any other explanation to how they can like this disgusting inedible thing. However, Korean cabbage chocolate is very nice, spicy but nice.

Our department got something like 7 new employees when the medical student invasion started. I’m taking care of Joonas, who is doing his internship in June and continuing on with his summer-employment in July. Today I tried to teach him how to isolate RNA – in Finnish I might add, I don’t think I’ve ever spoken this much Finnish in my entire life.

Everyone at work are happy. This might be because of the nice weather, the additional work force or the fact that they will have their summer holiday in less than a month. – anyway, their happiness makes me happy too 🙂

And to upgrade my home to the current season I bought a new pillow that seem to fit right in with the rest of my apartment.
