In Sydney the weather took a turn for the worse. But  even though the rain was pouring down Mikaela was good enough to take me on a tour of the city.

And she’s such a good photographer! I’m just used to my parents’ photo skills 😉 and now I’ve finally got some good pictures of myself as a tourist.

The very first Christmas dinner was with a selected few of my mother’s family. We were at my aunt Eivor’s place, which was decorated according to the season + a large number of kissing items.

Olle had made a Christmas quiz for those who didn’t want to watch Donald Duck (or Sarah Dawn Finer).

One question was: who coined the expression “jul jul förkrossande jul” that my aunt had embroidered on a tablecloth. Feel free to guess!

The most exiting gift of the year (although my dad always finds his presents exiting) was the guitar my mother had bought him. My brother had managed to wrap it so that he had no idea what it was.

I didn’t have that much of a problem figuring out what Santa brought me.

For once I took more pictures of my father’s side of the family, so I thought we’d take a look at the Christmas dinner we had at my aunt’s place.

Even before you go inside, their house looks like a winter fairy tale.

I turned 30 a week back and celebrated it together with friends and family in Kvevlax. It’s getting too dark outside. 80% of the pictures were blurry, so there’s really not that much to see…

I hardly had time to talk to everyone and even less to take pictures. There was, however, a whole series of pictures of Stefan and Andreas but that was when I was trying out the flash and I don’t think they’d like me to show any of them 🙂

But I had a great evening thanks to all the wonderful people who was there and thanks to my parents who spent the whole evening in the kitchen. You can see my mother as the blurry figure in the first picture.

Before you get to see the pictures from my birthday party I’ll show you some from this weekend when Pernilla celebrated hers. She turned 27 and had the (quite macabre in my opinion) theme of the 27 Club. All guests were asked to come as one of the many famous people who had died at the age of 27.

Here’s Pernilla herself, on the right, dressed as Amy Winehouse. Next to her is another Amy who had managed to get her hair that big by stuffing it with a pair of gloves.

And as it was Pernilla’s party she had made lots and lots of food!

Here are some other famous characters that joined the party:

Janis Joplin

Kurt Cobain

A scary looking Richey Edwards and the cake

Another Amy and Janis

And finally, a blurry picture of me as Amy

For all those lazy summer days when you are hanging out with your extended family this is the game to play, bollipompa, invented by Olle. The brilliance lies in its simplicity, everyone from 3 to 100 years old can play it – as long as you can throw/drop a ball.

Here is Olle himself showing how it is done. You basically bounce a rubber ball onto a board and try to make it jump into one of the baskets in front of it. The closest basket gives you one point, then comes two points and if you make it land in the one farthest away you get three points.

Amanda was a real champion. She and my dad (who is watching her very intently in the picture) ended up battling each other for the price money – 10 million euro.

The prize was handed out by an oil-magnate. And it went to my dad. This, even though he wasn’t used to the nose rubbing ritual and tried to give the honored guest kisses on the cheeks instead.

And the 10 million euros, well, unfortunately my dad wasn’t lucky enough to win the lottery that Sunday.

Went to Närpes last weekend to celebrate the most wonderful Henrica who turned 30. Her childhood home was just beautiful, it fitted all the guests and there was still room for dancing.

The entertainment was Roy and the Fishermen (minus Roy) and we even got to hear the birthday-girl herself sing.
